*There are two roads here, and they are going in opposite directions. One is bringing real humans into the virtual world, and the other is bringing virtual humans into the real world. I am much less interested in the conversion of humanity into avatars, than I am in the conversion of avatars into humanity.*
*In either case, avatars cannot exist without some kind of â??environmentâ?, seen or unseen. I believe that the conversion of real people into avatars, such as for 3D telecommunication or â??holoportationâ?, will come, or is coming, first. And, this infrastructure is vital for virtual humans to be able to hitch a ride in the opposite direction.*
