What does Semantic Web actually mean to Internet of Things?

What does Semantic Web actually mean to Internet of Things?

  1. IoT is basically about everyday objects sending and receiving data.
  2. RDF is a cornerstone of “Semantic Web”.
  3. RDF is a metadata structure in XML.

One thing I can say about the relation of Semantic Web to Internet of Things is that XML is being deprecated by big players in favor of JSON. Therefore IMHO, it is unlikely Semantic Web in the form of RDF will become a defining factor in the coming IoT.
