What should be the go-to-market strategy for Watson and similar products?
The IBM Watson go-to-market strategy is way off the mark. The actual offerings with the IBM Watson name bear little resemblance to IBM Watson. The original IBM Watson products were high end, high dollar customizations, deals done behind closed doors. The IBM Watson Ecosystem products were subject to approval based on ideas which were not accepted, only to be seen later rolled out by others with IBM’s help. Now the IBM Watson Developer Cloud products bear no resemblance to actual IBM Watson functions at all. The hype surrounding IBM Watson seems to have gotten out of control, and IBM appears to be struggling to manage expectations. All I can say is that this is one “go-to-market strategy” to be avoided.
