Will a big data internship be beneficial to someone who is interested in artificial intelligence?
Yes, at this point big data is fundamental to artificial intelligence. The big hurdle is really in the basics of setting it up and getting it running. My personal definition of big data is too big to do yourself on your own equipment, in other words by one person on a normal personal computer. A friend has described artificial intelligence as pure mathematics. As someone trained in psychology, I look at the algorithms of artificial intelligence as mathematical models of natural, biological processes… or linear expressions of nonlinear activities.
