Notes:
MicroPsi is a software platform for building artificial intelligence (AI) systems that are capable of learning, adapting, and interacting with their environment. The MicroPsi agent architecture is a framework for building AI agents that are based on the principles of embodied cognition and situated learning.
Embodied cognition is the idea that the body and the environment play a central role in the way that an organism thinks, learns, and perceives the world. Situated learning is a related concept that emphasizes the importance of the context in which learning takes place. Together, these principles suggest that the best way to build intelligent systems is to give them a body and place them in an environment where they can interact and learn from their experiences.
The MicroPsi agent architecture is designed to support the development of AI agents that are based on these principles. It consists of a number of components, including:
- Sensors: These are the inputs to the system, which allow the agent to perceive its environment and gather information about it.
- Actuators: These are the outputs of the system, which allow the agent to take actions in its environment.
- Cognitive processes: These are the internal processes that the agent uses to process and interpret the information it receives from its sensors, and to decide what actions to take based on that information.
- Learning mechanisms: These are the mechanisms that allow the agent to improve its performance over time by adapting to its environment and learning from its experiences.
MicroPsi could be used to build intelligent virtual humans that are capable of learning, adapting, and interacting with their environment in a realistic and believable way.
One way to use MicroPsi with virtual humans is to build AI agents that are based on the MicroPsi agent architecture and use them as the basis for the virtual humans. These AI agents could be designed to perceive and interact with their environment in a way that is similar to how real humans do, using sensors and actuators that mimic human senses and actions. The cognitive processes and learning mechanisms of the AI agent could then be used to enable the virtual human to think, learn, and adapt to its environment in a way that is similar to how a real human would.
Another way to use MicroPsi with virtual humans is to incorporate the MicroPsi agent architecture into the design of the virtual human itself. This could involve using the cognitive processes and learning mechanisms of the MicroPsi agent architecture to enable the virtual human to process and interpret information from its environment and make decisions based on that information. This could allow the virtual human to behave in a more realistic and believable way, and to adapt and learn from its interactions with its environment.
