Notes:
Query expansion is the process of reformulating a seed query, for instance expanding a search. Studies on text retrieval systems have used query expansion using term clustering, thesauri, latent semantic indexing, and other techniques. Query expansion may also include synset (synonym ring), stemming, and normalization. PowerAqua is a multi-ontology tool that may be used for query expansion. Lemur (Lemur Project) is another tool that may be used for query expansion.
