How do you find technical talent in India focused on building AI based products?

I’ve spent much of the past three years in and out of Bangalore trying to do just this….

  1. The big problem in India is that computer science graduates cannot program, cannot problem solve, despite memorizing one or more programming languages.
  2. Another problem is that all too often students or graduates are not passionate about their chosen field or subject; they are really only interested in career prospects.
  3. Finally, Indians will often tell you anything; finding someone who will actually do what they say they can, when they say they can, is close to impossible.

Realistically, Acqui-hiring is your best bet; find a startup that’s actually made something, and buy them.  I suggest to start by making a presentation at the new meetup, Bangalore Artificial Intelligence Community.
