How hard it is to make an artificial intelligence bot like ALICE with AIML?
How do I build a chat bot without using the AIML technology?
AIML, the Pandorabots SaaS, and their new chatbots.io API (dubbed “AIaaS”) is some of the oldest, time tested, and user-friendly DIY chatbot technology available.
If you do not want any “technology”, in other words “programming”, there are a number of turnkey SaaS chatbot services available with graphical user interfaces; however, these services are usually less flexible and powerful than the AIML based technologies.
There are quite a few ifs, ands or buts to be taken into consideration. Avatar technology for chatbots is not very good, or affordable, both for the web and for mobile, in particular modular avatar technology. So, unless a service provides a bundled avatar, you will need to “program” an API. Further, few avatars include speech synthesis, and fewer still speech recognition.
My preferred configuration is API on the “front end”, and a GUI backend with uploadable/downloadable knowledgebase; however, few services offer such a user-friendly configuration.
