T-Mobile partnered with the extended reality (XR) training company Mursion to handle change management and training initiatives during its merger with Sprint. The collaboration involved developing a new learning strategy that would allow leaders to manage changing business conditions via simulated scenarios.

Using Mursion’s platform, T-Mobile exposed its business leaders to virtual reality simulations of various change management situations. The learners participated in a range of scenarios and were tasked to generate buy-in from influential but resistant employees. The training, which was done in short thirty-minute sessions accessible from anywhere, was highly effective for T-Mobileâ??s distributed teams.

The success of the XR training was significant. Post the integration of Mursion’s training simulations, nearly 90% of T-Mobile employees showed improved competence in managing change scenarios.

The positive outcome has led T-Mobile to expand its use of Mursion’s services. They have broadened their training strategy to include new lessons on leading difficult team meetings and providing support to an employee facing emotional distress. They also plan to increase the number of simulations in the future.

Additionally, T-Mobile has extended the use of Mursion’s simulations to other business areas, such as their NXT LVL program, which trains top-performing retail leaders in B2B sales onboarding strategies.
