#telyukacom <= **Bringing Virtual to Life: The Remarkable Journey of Realism in 3D Character Saya ** "Virtual humans," like the convincingly human-like 3D character Saya, are 3D computer-generated (3DCG) models that look strikingly real. The creators of Saya, CG artists Teruyuki and Yuka Ishikawa, along with printing director Tsutomu Kojima, have recently exhibited a 2D print of Saya in an exhibition titled "Threatening Realism." This exhibition, part of the Takehara Art Project 2022, was held in a historic building in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The exhibition featured a variety of realistic paintings and sculptures, but the main topic of discussion for this trio was how they managed to reproduce Saya's sense of realism in their 2D print work, using EIZO ColorEdge monitors to support the process. This roundtable discussion revealed that they all agreed on the importance of adding noise and color fluctuation to create a realistic feel. The CG2700X model of the ColorEdge monitor proved critical in allowing these delicate and subtle adjustments. Their work with Saya has grown since it first became a hot topic in 2015, adding elements such as motion and voice, and more recently, interactive AI. They continue to explore the realism of their creation, considering things like skin tones and textures to enhance its lifelike appearance. The goal is to create a CG print that can match the realism expressed in traditional art mediums like oil paintings and sculptures. => https://www.eizoglobal.com/library/management/saya-exhibit/
