Researchers at **Meta AI**, in collaboration with universities including McGill University and Northeastern University, have developed the MyoSuite platform for applying machine learning to biomechanical control problems. The platform’s latest iteration, MyoSuite 2.0, involves disembodied skeletal arms and legs that use AI to perform tasks and experiments similar to how toddlers interact with objects. These models have 39 muscles and 29 joints for the arm, and 80 muscles and 16 joints for the legs. The aim is to achieve human-level dexterity and agility. The research highlights the complexity of replicating human motor control and could impact the development of more realistic avatars for applications like the metaverse.
