Notes:
A rhetorical structure tree (RS tree) is a graphical representation of the structure and organization of a text or discourse. It is used in discourse analysis and natural language processing (NLP) to represent the relationships between different units of text, known as elementary discourse units (EDUs).
An RS tree is typically constructed by analyzing a text or discourse and identifying the relationships between different EDUs. These relationships can be categorized into different types, such as temporal, causal, contrastive, or other types of relationships. The RS tree represents these relationships by connecting the EDUs with labeled arcs, indicating the type of relationship between them.
RS trees are used in a variety of contexts, including language education, information retrieval, and machine translation. They can be helpful for understanding the structure and organization of a text or discourse, and can also be useful for identifying patterns and trends in language use.
