Master Metaphor List

Notes:

The Master Metaphor List is a comprehensive collection of metaphors that is widely used in the field of linguistics and literature. A metaphor is a figure of speech that uses a word or phrase to describe something as if it were something else, in order to create a vivid or imaginative description. For example, “love is a rose” is a metaphor because it describes love as if it were a rose, using the characteristics of a rose to describe the qualities of love.

The Master Metaphor List is a comprehensive collection of metaphors that includes a wide range of categories, such as metaphors for emotions, mental states, physical sensations, and more. It is often used by linguists, writers, and other language professionals as a reference for understanding and analyzing the use of metaphors in language and literature.

The Master Metaphor List is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive and well-organized collections of metaphors available, and it is frequently cited as a resource in academic studies and research on metaphors and figurative language.
