Notes:
Fuzzy logic is a mathematical system that allows for the representation and manipulation of uncertainty in logic. It is based on the idea that logical statements can have a truth value that is not necessarily true or false, but can fall somewhere in between on a continuum of truth values. This allows for more flexible and nuanced reasoning than traditional binary logic, which only allows for statements to be true or false.
Fuzzy logic is used in dialog systems to improve the naturalness and flexibility of the system’s responses. For example, a dialog system that uses fuzzy logic might be able to understand and respond to vague or imprecise user input, such as “I’m feeling pretty good today” or “I’m looking for a restaurant that’s not too expensive.” This can help the system have more natural and human-like conversations with users.
