Notes:
A speech user interface (SUI) is a type of human-computer interface that allows users to interact with a computer or other device using spoken natural language. SUIs are often used in voice-controlled virtual assistants, such as Apple’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa, and can be used to perform a wide range of tasks, such as answering questions, setting reminders, and controlling connected devices.
In the context of extended reality (XR), which encompasses virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR), a speech user interface can be used to allow users to interact with virtual or augmented environments using their voice. For example, a user wearing a VR headset could use a speech user interface to navigate a virtual world, or to interact with virtual objects and characters. In an AR or MR setting, a speech user interface could be used to control an overlaid digital interface, or to access information and services in the real world.
