Notes:
Virtual humans, also known as digital humans or digital actors, are computer-generated characters that are designed to look and act like real people. These characters are often used in movies, television shows, video games, and other forms of media to create realistic and lifelike characters that can interact with live actors or other virtual characters.
Synthespians, virtual actors, vactors, and cyberstars are all terms that have been used to describe virtual humans in various contexts. “Silicentric” actors is a term that has been used to refer to virtual actors that are created using computer-generated imagery (CGI) technology.
Virtual humans have become increasingly sophisticated over the years, with many of them being able to convincingly mimic the appearance and movements of real people. Some virtual humans are even able to mimic facial expressions, gestures, and vocal inflections, making them an increasingly popular choice for use in a wide range of media applications.
In general, the main difference between a virtual actor and a digital character is that a virtual actor is designed to look and act like a real person, while a digital character may not be intended to look or act like a real person. Digital characters can take many different forms, including animals, robots, monsters, and other types of fantastical creatures.
