Mashups & Natural Language Generation

Notes:

A mashup, also known as a mash-up, is a combination or fusion of disparate elements, and in computing, it refers specifically to a web page or application created by combining data or functionality from different sources.

A data mashup is a type of mashup that involves the integration of two or more data sets in a single interface. This can be done by combining data from different sources, such as APIs, web services, or databases, and presenting it in a single, cohesive interface.

Mashups are often used to create custom web applications and data visualizations that combine and manipulate data from multiple sources in new and innovative ways. They can be created using a variety of tools and technologies, and they have a wide range of applications, including business, education, entertainment, and more.

Yahoo Pipes was a popular mashup tool that was developed by Yahoo and launched in 2005. It allowed users to create custom web applications by combining and manipulating data from various online sources, such as RSS feeds, web services, and other APIs. Yahoo Pipes provided a visual interface for building and testing mashups, and it was widely used by developers and users who wanted to create custom web applications and data visualizations.

KBGenMashup and Tutorons are other examples of mashup tools that have been discussed in recent academic literature.
