Notes:
Narrative understanding and story understanding are similar but slightly different concepts. Narrative understanding refers to the ability to understand and interpret the structure and components of a narrative, such as characters, events, and themes. This can involve analyzing the narrative and extracting meaning from it.
Story understanding, on the other hand, refers to the ability to understand and interpret a story in a more general sense. This can include things like understanding the plot and characters, as well as the themes and ideas that are present in the story.
Natural language processing (NLP) is a field of artificial intelligence that deals with the ability of computers to process, analyze, and generate natural human language. NLP techniques can be used in the context of narrative and story understanding to help computers understand and interpret natural language text, which can be useful for tasks like summarizing or generating narratives.
