**AI-Based Personalized Sports Coaching: CNAI and Ddakple Debut Virtual Medalists for Customized Training**
AI synthetic data startup CNAI, in collaboration with sports startup Ddakple, announced on July 10 that it has developed virtual human badminton gold medalist ‘AI Lee Yong-dae’ and judo bronze medalist ‘AI Jo Jun-ho’ to provide AI coaching services.
The AI coaching service works by having users upload videos of their own game play or movements, and then ‘AI Lee Yong-dae’ or ‘AI Jo Jun-ho’ provide one-on-one coaching. With the recent expansion of interest in sports, demand for coaching is increasing, so this service is expected to become more useful.
CNAI has been creating virtual human versions of professional baseball and basketball players through its virtual human creation platform, Pola. It has recently developed a generative AI platform that creates new images or modifies existing ones with simple prompts. Ddakple provides a community solution specifically for badminton and judo sports enthusiasts, offering facility rentals, tournament applications, payments, and AI coaching services, and has secured 14,000 members.
CNAI CEO Kim Bo-hyung said, “Services incorporating AI are beginning to infiltrate everyday sports. We will continue to refine AI technology and develop related services so that the general public in the community can easily access and utilize AI in their daily lives.”
Park So-young, co-CEO of Ddakple, said, “Through the country’s first AI human feedback service created in collaboration with CNAI, badminton and judo enthusiasts nationwide will be able to receive one-on-one feedback from Olympic medalists regardless of place or time.”
This project is part of the Daejeon Science Industry Promotion Agency’s (DISTEP) ‘2022 Daejeon Converging New Industry Creation Special Zone Technology Demonstration Leading Project’. The aim of the project is to commercialize technologies developed by government-funded research institutions and universities located in Daejeon, in collaboration with companies in the region. As part of this, CNAI has also provided virtual humans to other organizations including Daejeon Happy Welfare Center and Daesung Middle School.
