YAGO2 contains structured knowledge automatically extracted from web sites such as Wikipedia. YAGO2 is a huge semantic knowledge base, built automatically from from Wikipedia, WordNet and GeoNames. YAGO2 is one of the most widespread ontologies, which exploits a set of relation-specific heuristics to extract knowledge from Wikipedia, WordNet and GeoNames. YAGO2 knowledge base has rich statistics derived from Wikipedia and other sources. Basically, YAGO2 is a spatially and temporally enhanced knowledge base from Wikipedia. There is also a T-YAGO, or temporal version of YAGO. YAGO2 is a recent extension of the YAGO knowledge base with a focus on temporal and spatial knowledge. Yago2 is a large ontology, a new version of the original YAGO ontology, where entities, facts, and events are augmented with relevant temporal and spatial information. YAGO2 has integrated geo-spatial and temporal information and contains more than 200 million facts. The Yago2 ontology gives a concordance between Wikipedia articles and GeoNames geographic entities. From the original YAGO, YAGO2 almost doubled in size as a result of materialization, jumping from 33M to 64M triples. Facts may be extracted from the entity’s properties in DBpedia, YAGO2 and GeoNames. In the newer version (YAGO2), the authors claimed to extract more than 10 million entities and 80 million facts. YAGO2, DBpedia3 and Wikinet are examples of projects that use Wikipedia as source for the production of data repositories in the form of ontological structures.

Domain-specific ontologies may be construction from hierarchical web documents by combing them with with YAGO2, to form an ontology group, and then be used in automatic question answering systems. Recommender systems may also be built on a YAGO2 backend. To allow for a better comparability transform all sets to the N-Triple format which means that every row contains a single RDF triple, using the RDF2RDF tool for YAGO2 and TopBraid Composer for the rest. Compare the space required to store the triple table with three widely used datasets: Barton, DBpedia and YAGO2. The Barton dataset is a complete dump of the MIT Libraries Barton catalog. In addition to the core version of YAGO2, the LUBM (Lehigh University Benchmark) is another freely available dataset. Freebase is another semantic knowledge base like Yago2 for graph creation. Like YAGO2, UniProt (uniprot.org) has very large RDF graphs. Linked Life Data and Bio2RDF are other life sciences Linked Open Data in the cloud, like UniProt. The main ontology of SONCA (Search based on ONtologies and Compound Analytics) was constructed from DBpedia, in particular, from the datasets “Articles Categories”, “Categories (Skos)”, “Links to YAGO2” and “Word Net Classes”.
