Notes:
Digital psychedelics, also known as virtual reality (VR) psychedelics or cyberdelics, refer to the use of virtual reality or other immersive digital technologies to experience altered states of consciousness or simulate psychedelic experiences. These technologies may be used to replicate the effects of psychedelic drugs, such as LSD or psilocybin, or to create entirely new and unique experiences.
Digital psychedelics can be accessed through a variety of platforms, including VR headsets, computer programs, and smartphone apps. Some common applications of digital psychedelics include meditation and relaxation, creative exploration, and therapeutic interventions for mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.
SoundSelf is a virtual reality (VR) meditation experience that uses sound and visualization to induce altered states of consciousness. It is designed to be used with VR headsets, such as the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, and is available for PC and Mac computers.
SoundSelf is based on the concept of “technodelics,” which refers to the use of technology to induce altered states of consciousness similar to those experienced during meditation or while using psychedelic drugs. The experience uses binaural beats, which are sound frequencies that can affect brain waves, and immersive visuals to guide users into a meditative state.
Users of SoundSelf report experiencing a range of effects, including relaxation, increased focus and concentration, and altered states of consciousness. Some users have also reported having spiritual or mystical experiences while using the program.
