#storyfilecom <= **Guardian Angel of Route 66: Angel Delgadillo's Legacy Celebrated in New Interactive Exhibit** Angel Delgadillo, also known as the Guardian Angel of Route 66, is inaugurating an exhibit dedicated to his impact on Route 66, featuring an interactive Storyfile where visitors can engage with a virtual version of Angel, asking questions about his life and Route 66. The exhibit, designed by graphic designer Wade Bray, features historic photos, information about Angelâ??s family, and a vintage barber chair for photo opportunities, replicating the experience of Angelâ??s original barber shop. Nikki Seegers from the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona hopes the exhibit will help visitors experience the unique impact of Delgadillo. The exhibit, located at the Kingman Visitor Center, opens to the public on July 27th, and entry is free. Angel Delgadillo, born April 19, 1927, is an influential figure in the history of U.S. Route 66. Born and raised in Seligman, Arizona, along Route 66, Delgadillo witnessed key events such as the Dust Bowl exodus and World War II movements. He ran a barbershop and a souvenir shop along the historic road. After Route 66 was removed from the United States Highway System in 1985, he founded the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona, which inspired similar associations in every state Route 66 passes through. His advocacy and passion for preserving Route 66 earned him nicknames like "The Father of the Mother Road" and "The Guardian Angel of Route 66". Delgadillo's story notably influenced the 2006 Pixar film "Cars", and he remains a popular figure visited by tourists worldwide. => https://www.thebee.news/angel-of-route-66-getting-his-own-exhibit/
