Ethereum metaverse game **The Sandbox** has announced a series of 3,000 officially licensed Elvis Presley NFT avatars to celebrate the musicianâ??s legacy. Each avatar will feature different outfits and hairstyles from Presleyâ??s career, along with unique emotes inspired by his dance moves. The avatars, minted on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon, will be playable in all future Sandbox multiplayer experiences and unlock upcoming features in the metaverse.
The public sale of these avatars will begin on August 9, with an exclusive 24-hour purchase window for owners of The Sandboxâ??s NFT-based land and certain avatar collections, and those who registered for an allowlist. Each avatar will cost 100 SAND (about $41). Avatar holders will have governance and voting rights for the Elvis Legacy Council DAO, an online community that will help decide future developments for Presleyâ??s digital estate.
The release of these avatars is part of a week-long digital celebration of Elvis Presley, set to begin on August 9, which will include livestreamed concerts, tribute contests, and panel discussions, plus a digital tour of Presleyâ??s Graceland home. The Sandbox also plans an official Elvis Presley metaverse space, featuring a digital recreation of Graceland and unique NFTs.
