CNBC Africa is set to debut an artificial intelligence-powered avatar as its new newsreader. This AI avatar, crafted to resemble Chanel Retief from Africa Business News (CNBC Africa’s parent company), is intended to enhance human productivity rather than replace it. This innovative AI newsreader will collaborate with CNBC Africa’s journalists, analysts, and anchors, amalgamating human expertise with technological efficiency. Notably, the first-ever AI anchor was launched in China in November 2018, based on Xinhua News Agencyâ??s Zhang Zhao, which can operate round-the-clock and reports both on social media and the Xinhua website.
