Notes:
START is a question answering system that is designed to provide users with specific answers to their questions, rather than just a list of potential sources of information. It was developed by the InfoLab Group at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and has been in operation since December 1993. It is an early example of the kind of natural language processing and artificial intelligence technologies that are now common in virtual assistants and other applications.
