Automated Journalism: Guardian Australia ReporterMate

Notes:

ReporterMate is an automated news reporting system that was developed by Nick Evershed as an experimental project. It is designed to generate news articles based on structured data sources, such as databases or spreadsheet data.

The goal of ReporterMate is to make it easier and faster for journalists to create news articles based on data sources, by automating the process of gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data. It is intended to be used as a tool to assist journalists in the news creation process, rather than replacing them entirely.

ReporterMate works by using natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to analyze data sources and generate a summary of the key points or insights contained in the data. It can then use this summary to generate a news article or report, including a headline, introduction, and body text.
