What are the best Neural Network techniques for computational linguistics applications?

> Neural Network & Dialog Systems 2014 | Meta-Guide.com

I’ve done a couple of quick and dirty metrics.  For 2014, it seems to be all about deep neural networks.  Recurrent neural networks are mentioned over 3 times a much asConvolutional neural networks.  The primary purpose of these neural networks seems to be for language modeling.

I also revamped an earlier metric based on the number of academic papers (Google Scholar) over the past 10 years, which revealed the following top ten neural networktopics….

  • Perceptron,745
  • Deep learning,314
  • Radial basis function,288
  • Multilayer perceptron,236
  • Recurrent neural network,207
  • Feed forward,201
  • Sigmoid function,201
  • Backpropagation,200
  • Activation function,174
  • Long short term memory,113
