What is automated journalism, and what companies other than Narrative Science are working on it?

What has been dubbed “robojournalism” is a specialization of the broader field of Natural language generation.  Wikipedia lists quite a few variations on the theme ofComputational journalism, including Data journalism, Data-driven journalism, andDatabase journalism.

There are a number of companies at work now in the NLG space:

  1. arria.com
  2. automatedinsights.com
  3. narrativescience.com
  4. onlyboth.com
  5. yseop.com
