Notes:
Interactive story authoring is a process and set of techniques for creating interactive stories or narratives that can be experienced by users in a dynamic and interactive way. Interactive stories are typically created using a combination of text, graphics, images, audio, and other multimedia elements, and are designed to be experienced by users through a variety of different platforms and devices, such as computers, smartphones, or virtual reality systems.
Interactive story authoring typically involves a range of different activities and steps, such as defining the story’s structure and plot, creating and organizing the story’s content, designing the user interface and interactions, and testing and refining the story. It may also involve the use of specialized authoring tools and software, such as storyboarding tools, scriptwriting tools, or interactive design software, to help create and manage the story.
Interactive story authoring is often used in a variety of different contexts, such as education, entertainment, marketing, and advertising. For example, interactive stories can be used to create engaging and immersive learning experiences for students, or to create engaging and interactive games and entertainment experiences for users. They can also be used to create interactive marketing campaigns or advertisements that engage and engage users, or to create interactive experiences that promote products or services.
- Plot-based interactive storytelling refers to a form of interactive storytelling where the story is built around a pre-determined plot, and the audience is given choices that affect how the story unfolds. The audience’s choices shape the direction of the story, but the overall plot remains the same. This is in contrast to a more open-ended interactive storytelling, where the audience has more control over the outcome of the story.
- Story graph is a visual representation of the narrative structure of a story, typically used to map out the plot, characters, and events of the story. It can be used to analyze and understand the narrative structure of a story, and to help writers plan and organize their own stories. A story graph typically consists of nodes (representing characters, events or locations) and edges (representing the relationships between nodes, such as cause-and-effect relationships).
- Storytelling framework is a set of guidelines, tools, and techniques that are used to create and structure a story. It can include elements such as plot, character development, setting, and dialogue, as well as conventions and techniques for narrative structure, pacing, and point of view. A storytelling framework can help writers to create a cohesive and compelling story, and to ensure that the story has a clear beginning, middle, and end.
