Yann LeCun is a French computer scientist and electrical engineer who is known for his work in the fields of machine learning, computer vision, mobile robotics, and computational neuroscience. He is currently the VP and Chief AI Scientist at Facebook, and a professor at New York University, where he directs the NYU Center for Data Science and the NYU Center for Neural Science. LeCun has made many important contributions to the field of machine learning, including the development of the convolutional neural network, which has been widely used in image and speech recognition. He has also received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Turing Award, the highest honor in computer science.
