*Until now, there has been no **Turing test** for virtual beings, or rather for the **Uncanny Valley**. Movies have served as a de facto test for the Uncanny Valley – can the digital human fool the audience. There is also what I call the “social media test” – can the “virtual influencer” fool the fans.* *I propose this simple, double-blind contest, with a #VTuber in one half of the screen and an #AIavatar in the other half. This would result in human-inhabited avatar versus AI-inhabited avatar, or human versus AI. I see this being a synchronous test of convincing or believable interactivity, rather than asynchronous. What could go wrong? :-)*
