> **Synthetic Training Environment (STE)** is a range of sub-programs that are morphing all the time.

*I’m most interested in what the opportunities may become for SMEs getting involved in providing, or contributing, virtual humans/ virtual human services to the future STE, like independent contractors. For this, standards for virtual human systems will be required. My understanding is that ARL works closely with USC ICT, which has their own “virtual human toolkit” as a starting point.*
* ARL = Army Research Lab
* ICT = Institute for Creative Technologies
* SME = Small and medium-sized enterprise
* STE = Synthetic Training Environment
* USC = University of Southern California
