**HTC Medical VR and Asia University Collaborate to Enhance Metaverse Education through AI and VR Technology**
The HTC Medical VR team, which is dedicated to integrating and developing global medical VR ecosystem resources, has collaborated with the Asia University College of Nursing. They are utilizing HTC’s newly launched “Virti AI Virtual Person Lesson Plan Creation Platform” to produce their own medical nursing education and patient communication VR training content. The platform uses generative AI technology to quickly generate lesson plan scripts, and then applies no-code voice interaction, related actions, and other functions to complete an AI virtual patient interaction lesson plan within 30 minutes, significantly speeding up the creation of metaverse training lesson plans and enhancing the technology skills of teachers and students.
Asia University College of Nursing has invested in metaverse education development since 2021 and launched the “Metaverse/VR Material Development Workshop Training Program” in 2022. Dozens of teachers have now become seed teachers for developing Virti VR immersive lesson plans. This year, they have further used generative AI technology to develop virtual patients incorporated into nursing courses, and held a “Generative AI Metaverse Lesson Plan Development Workshop”. This approach, involving realistic scenarios and actual interactions with virtual patients, can strengthen learning experiences and enhance brain memory, greatly increasing students’ interest and effectiveness in learning. It also creates a new teaching model and expands the teaching horizons and innovative thinking of teachers.
The “Generative AI Metaverse Lesson Plan Development Workshop” can lead teachers and students to understand how to use generative AI technology to quickly create lesson plan content and learn how to use the “Virti AI Virtual Person Lesson Plan Creation Platform” to develop their own AI virtual patient interaction content. Teachers and students who participated in the workshop stated that after learning to use generative AI technology, they can accelerate the development of lesson plans by 10 to 100 times. The “Virti AI Virtual Person Lesson Plan Creation Platform” can also help teachers create actual AI virtual patient interaction lesson plans within 30 minutes, significantly saving lesson preparation time, and can more effectively guide students in interacting with virtual patients for evaluation, fully mastering the knowledge they have learned and patient care communication skills.
The Dean of the Asia University College of Nursing, Wu Hua-shan, stated that through the application of innovative technology to improve teaching results and R&D capabilities, they are able to cultivate professional nursing talents that meet future needs. This is a recent development focus of the College of Nursing. The collaboration with the HTC Medical VR team to hold workshops and use the “Virti AI Virtual Person Lesson Plan Creation Platform” to quickly develop various nursing scenario training lesson plans can effectively enhance the abilities of teachers and students. In the future, they will also hold presentations on the results of the innovative technology application in nursing education and share the experience of the Asia University College of Nursing in promoting ChatGPT and metaverse teaching.
The Senior Vice President of HTC VIVE Enterprise Solutions, Bao Yongzhe, stated that the Medical VR team combined generative AI technology to launch the “Virti AI Virtual Person Lesson Plan Creation Platform” and cooperated with schools to jointly promote the metaverse workshop, bringing innovative breakthroughs to the field of education and training. They provided a new solution for integrating generative AI technology into the curriculum.
