John Riccitiello, former EA CEO and current CEO of Unity, proposed the idea that Simlish, the fictional language used in The Sims games, could be replaced by AI technology like ChatGPT in the future. He argued that AI could generate dynamic conversations in real-world languages, enhancing the interactive gaming experience. However, this proposition has stirred controversy, with critics arguing that Simlish is an essential part of The Sims’ unique gameplay experience. The use of AI in gaming has also raised ethical issues, particularly regarding data usage. Multiple lawsuits have arisen due to allegations of infringement and privacy violations associated with the commercial use of AI technologies. Despite the controversy, Riccitiello believes that AI’s potential to enhance gaming interactions cannot be overstated.
