Heliograf is a platform developed by The Washington Post that uses natural language generation technology to automate the production of news stories. It is designed to enhance the newspaper’s coverage of large-scale, data-driven events by quickly and accurately generating reports based on data and pre-written templates. With Heliograf, the Washington Post is able to produce more comprehensive and timely coverage of major news events, such as the 2016 US Presidential election and the Rio Olympics. The platform has been recognized for its ability to provide high-quality, data-driven journalism in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
