The Australasian Language Technology Association (ALTA) is a professional organization that promotes the development and use of language technology in the Australasian region. The organization was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.
ALTA’s mission is to promote research, development, and collaboration in the field of language technology, and to encourage the uptake of language technology in industry, academia, and government. The organization hosts events such as conferences, workshops, and meetups, and it provides resources and support for researchers and practitioners in the field.
ALTA is open to members from across the Australasian region, including Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. Membership is open to individuals and organizations interested in language technology, and it includes researchers, practitioners, students, and others working in the field.
