Notes:
Steve DiPaola is an associate professor at Simon Fraser University in Canada, where he directs the iVizLab, a research lab focused on the human experience of computational systems. His work includes research on 3D facial animation, cognitive modeling of fine art painters, and virtual interactive conversational avatars. He has also worked on socially communicative virtual characters for interactive applications, affective response patterns as indicators of personality in virtual characters, and the use of deep learning AI in painterly rendering. DiPaola has a background in both art and science, and has previously held positions at Stanford University and the New York Institute of Technology. He has also served as the director of the Cognitive Science Program at Simon Fraser University.
