Notes:
Virtual storytelling is a way of using technology to create immersive and interactive experiences that tell a story or convey a message. It can involve a variety of technologies, including:
- Virtual reality (VR): VR technology involves the use of headsets and sometimes hand controllers to allow the user to experience a virtual world in a way that feels real. VR can be used to create immersive storytelling experiences, where the user feels like they are actually inside the story.
- Augmented reality (AR): AR technology involves overlaying digital information onto the real world, usually through a smartphone or tablet. AR can be used to create interactive storytelling experiences, where the user can explore and interact with the story in the real world.
- 360-degree video: This technology involves filming video from multiple angles and then stitching them together to create a video that allows the viewer to look around in any direction. 360-degree video can be used to create immersive storytelling experiences that feel like the viewer is actually present in the story.
- Interactive media: This can include a variety of technologies, such as web applications, mobile apps, and games, that allow the user to interact with the story and make choices that affect the outcome.
- Artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP): These technologies can be used to create interactive and personalized storytelling experiences, where the story adapts to the user’s choices and responses.
Overall, virtual storytelling involves the use of a combination of these technologies to create immersive, interactive, and engaging experiences that tell a story or convey a messag
- Ontology-based storytelling refers to the use of ontologies (i.e., formal representations of the concepts and relationships in a specific domain) to structure and organize the content of a story. Ontologies can be used to represent the concepts, entities, and relationships that are important to the story, and can help to make the story more coherent and logical.
- Storification refers to the process of turning something (e.g., an event, a concept, or a set of data) into a story. This can involve creating a narrative structure, adding characters and plot elements, and using language and other storytelling techniques to make the story more engaging and understandable.
- Storifying is the act of creating a story through the process of storification. This can involve collecting and organizing information, creating a narrative structure, and using storytelling techniques to make the story more engaging and understandable.
