**ESTsoft Rebrands as an AI Services Company**
Famous for supplying computer utility programs like ‘ALZip’ and ‘ALTools’, ESTsoft is transforming into an AI services company based on ‘Generative AI Human’ technology. Generative AI Human refers to the technology that generates virtual humans.
ESTsoft announced on the 28th that it has signed an AI Human Image Service contract with Getty Images Korea, a global image and video service company. As a result, they launched an ‘AI Person Museum’ in the ‘Medical Aesthetic Beauty’ category of Getty Images Bank.
The company takes photos and images of individuals from Getty Images Bank, reprocesses them using ESTsoft’s AI technology ‘Persona’ to meet the latest trends, and sells them through the AI Person Museum. The AI technology alters the characters’ hairstyles, glasses design, outfits, and makeup in the photos and images to create completely new images.
“Last November, after signing a business agreement with Getty Images Korea for ‘AI image generation and distribution at home and abroad’, we had strategic discussions for about six months. We conducted a blind test before the service started, and the sales volume increased by 700% when we provided reprocessed existing character images using AI technology,” said an ESTsoft spokesperson. They further added that they plan to update hairstyles and outfits quarterly and expand sales to overseas markets.
Since CEO Jeong Sang-won took office in 2016, ESTsoft has been declaring its transformation into an AI service company and creating its business model. The company also provides a ‘virtual fitting’ service that shows how glasses would look before deciding on a design. A company official revealed, “We are also discussing plans to incorporate AI human interface technology into the ‘Teams’ collaboration platform with Microsoft.”
The representative of Getty Images Korea, Park Geon-won, said, “The AI Person Museum service utilizes existing character photos and images from Getty Images Bank, free from copyright and portrait rights. It is expected to be widely used in various industries such as medical, aesthetic beauty, tourism, broadcasting, etc. We also look forward to reactions from overseas.”
