**The eXtended Reality Lab at the University of Cincinnati**, under the direction of Ming Tang, delves into the exploration of human interaction with different realities, including virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. Utilizing real-time visualization, virtual characters, video games, and simulated scenarios, the lab’s diverse team of professionals – from designers and artists to engineers and scientists – actively contribute to the development of immersive media. Their projects encapsulate various applications of Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed reality (VAM) in fields such as empathy building, cognitive embodiment, architectural visualization, job training, driving safety, and entertainment. They also venture into digital human modeling and animation with high fidelity in their ‘digital human project’. Tang firmly believes in the transformative power of technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins, and extended reality (XR) to better fuse design and computation, thereby enriching human connections.
