Notes:
Metaphorical reasoning is a type of reasoning that uses metaphorical expressions to reason about abstract or complex concepts. A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes something by saying that it is something else, often in order to make an idea more relatable or easier to understand. For example, “time is money” is a metaphor that is commonly used to describe the concept of time in terms of its value and the importance of using it wisely.
In the context of artificial intelligence and cognitive computing, metaphorical reasoning involves using metaphors to reason about complex ideas and concepts, and to make inferences and predictions based on that reasoning. This can be used to enable machines to understand and reason about abstract ideas in a more human-like way, and to better understand the meanings of metaphorical expressions used in natural language.
- Metaphorical reasoning is a type of thinking that involves using metaphors to understand and describe complex or abstract ideas and concepts. A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is used to describe something as if it were something else, in order to more easily convey meaning or understanding. For example, “love is a rose” is a metaphor that compares the feeling of love to the beauty and delicacy of a rose. Metaphorical reasoning allows people to understand and communicate complex or abstract ideas in a more relatable and understandable way.
